Once you’ve narrowed down your engagement session location it’s time to start planning! It’s my job as your Washington, DC engagement photographer to guide you to the best spots for engagement photos. I always approach your selected location with a general plan and love finding gems to capture along the way! See examples of little pockets you will find any time of year in Georgetown for your engagement shoot photos!
Georgetown is a Washington, DC neighborhood found between the Potomac River and Rock Creek Park. It’s a historic area filled with cobblestone streets and cut by the C&O Canal. As a photographer, I love this area any time of year for its fun pops of color and scenery that showcase different textures (I love all of the ivy!). There is a ton of variety so we can concentrate on visiting the types of spots that connects with you:
While Georgetown DC wedding venues offer some amazing spots for getting married including Tudor Place and Dumbarton House, Georgetown is actually one of my favorite locations for engagement shoot photos.
It’s really easy to just casually walk around and explore, keeping an eye out for fun color palettes to work with as a background. We can hunt for spots where there is green and ivy has taken over even during the colder months!
Here are some of my favorite features of Georgetown engagement shoot photos in every season:
With these two, we spent our time primarily walking around P and O Streets for their Georgetown engagement photos in the fall. Selecting this location for their engagement shoot photos was an easy choice since it was followed by their Tudor Place wedding also in Georgetown.
Kelly and Brian are locals and spend a lot of time in this Washington, DC neighborhood. It’s a place that is a part of their story! They just love the colorful and natural vibes found inside of this city and were down for anything! Letting loose and moving like this couple did helps create magic in your photos. It showcases your personality and creates an experience for y’all to remember.
We chose the fall so that the colors in their photos would be completely different from their later Georgetown wedding. We went to different areas so that the ceremony garden would stand on its own but still be connected with the fall colors.
