It was their vision from the start–a small, relaxed celebration with their closest loved ones. It’s this kind of vision that Goodstone Inn & Restaurant of Middleburg, VA brings to life so well. I always recommend this location for weddings because every time I shoot one there I instantly want to turn around and do it again!

Here are the many reasons why my couples and I find this wedding venue to be SO ideal!

Upon arriving at the magical and romantic wedding venue that is Goodstone Inn, you instantly feel both the ease and diversity it has to offer. Planted on 265 acres of rolling hills in the heart of Virginia wine country, this estate feels like a destination wedding without needing to leave the DC metro area.

Couples love that the venue has an outdoorsy feel while being a luxurious stay and experience. Goodstone Inn is an all-inclusive wedding venue which means they only host one wedding at a time. You have the entire place to yourself, your wedding party, and your guests! There’s a selection of larger houses or private cottages so entire families or friend groups can all stay together.

A Surprise Around Every Corner

There are so many beautiful spaces to explore! Brides can get ready at the historic Manor House, while the groom gussies up at the Bull Barn all followed by a first look.

The areas behind the cottages serve well as first look spots or they can even be used for the ceremony. I’ve caught so many beautiful sunset moments of my couples’ playing in Goodstone Inn’s open fields!

Options for Weddings No Matter the Size

What I love most about this venue is the variety that it offers. They cater to weddings of all sizes from petite, intimate weddings, to grand wedding weekends (Goodstone Inn accommodates up to 200 guests). Options include hosting a smaller cocktail hour and intimate dinner, or having a larger tented gathering.

The staff of Goodstone Inn will help you pick the space that is best suited for the vibe and guest count of your celebration. Hosting options for rehearsal dinners are also available and a completely different experience is created so nothing seems repetitive.

Ceremony locations include the most epic and romantic wall of ivy with blush florals and greenery that really makes it magical. Another spot couples opt for is a woodsy garden overlooking a wide open field at sunset.

Receptions and ceremonies can be held indoors or outdoors, so it’s basically like having a first choice and back-up location all wrapped into one!

Goodstone Inn makes the experience fun and easy while customizing every detail of your day so you can have the most authentic celebration. A honeymoon deal is offered at their sister property, Playa Cativo Lodge where newlyweds receive 10% off their stay.

The venue coordinator and staff are amazing and so on top of every little detail. You can close out your day with an intimate candlelit dinner on the ivy-covered patio or in the private section of the restaurant which has an elegant greenhouse feel. They even welcomed one couple’s pup who joined the party for a little bit!
