Elegant Meridian House Wedding in Washington, DC

I treat each and every one of my couples like we are old friends. I especially felt this connection when I met Mary and Dan. It is such a gift to connect with couples whose vision for their big day perfectly aligns with my photography values. The three of us immediately clicked! The entire process of capturing this couple’s elegant Meridian House wedding in Washington, DC was such a pleasure from start to finish!

“We Were Immediately in Love With Your Work!”

When this couple first reached out to me, and I asked them what initially drew them to my work, this is what they said: “We LOVE photographers that capture real moments…we’re looking for natural, real, honest photos that convey real emotions, instead of fake-looking posed moments.” These kind words hit me right in the heart! Not only is their love for one another completely palpable, but also their value of honest and pure moments on their wedding day was a precious sight to behold!

A Vintage Feel With Modern Taste

Mary and Dan chose to have these real, authentic moments together at Meridian House, an elegant wedding venue in Washington, DC. I cannot describe it any better than the hosts themselves, “Meridian House is an exquisite historic home situated on three acres of manicured gardens…standing the test of time, Meridian House is still considered by many to be the finest example of French urban architecture in the United States.”

Built in 1921, this historic residence is decorated with “a collection of 18th century French drawings and Oriental porcelains and screens.” The estate is considered “a jewel of the residential architecture of John Russell Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial, the National Gallery of Art, and the National Archives building.” Do you want to have your wedding in a historic, monument-like residence in Washington, DC? Then the elegant Meridian House is the wedding venue for you!

Trust me, I would be happy to return!

This location is perfect for couples who want a Washington, DC wedding with outdoor options that is tucked away from the busy city streets. Mary and Dan could not have fit the historic, elegant feel of this venue any better. Their grace and classiness so easily mixed with their spectacular surroundings. The grounds of Meridian House are so breathtaking–from the front drive to the backyard terrace and garden spaces.

A Modern Romance With Vintage Touches

Indoors, there are five different spaces for a wedding including an epic library and ball room. Outdoors there is a romantic tree grove with twinkle lights, a vast garden, and an outdoor terrace. It’s nestled not far from its namesake, Meridian Hill Park and only a mile north from the White House. It’s also a convenient five-minute walk from the LINE DC Hotel. Though some of my couples will choose to have their ceremony at the LINE DC, these two decided to get ready over there and then walk straight to their wedding venue! Location certainly is key when it comes to wedding planning!

Here Are My Pro Tips

You can get a major discount if you get married during the off season (winter and late summer). Also, the venue capacity is most flexible with 130 guests but it can host up to 200. Take full advantage of all that Meridian House has to offer in your wedding package including table and chair rental. This can save a ton of money!

The indoor and outdoor spaces are perfect for various weather options depending on the season of your wedding date. Have I mentioned there are so many to-die-for spots to shoot portraits including the gorgeous grand staircase?!! You can get more info and schedule a tour HERE.

This venue just bursts with timeless elegance and I honestly cannot wait for my next opportunity to capture this venue’s endless beauty. Could you be next?
