What’s a Bridal Boudoir Session Like?
Everyone—seriously everyone—walks into my studio with some nerves. I guide you through the entire process of preparing for your session so that you arrive excited to flaunt your gorgeous, powerful body:
- Sessions tend to last an average of 90 minutes, but we don’t have a hard cut-off time.
- Your hair & makeup artist can join us at the studio/venue or you can go earlier in the day.
As much as each woman’s body is different–so is the lingerie she wears. We will find the pieces that complement your body type whether it is a mix of cozy loungewear or sexier options. You’ll bring two to three outfits and I’ll guide you through picking colors and textures for pieces that will photograph best in the space. Once you are comfortable, I walk you through what to do throughout your session and encourage movement so it feels completely natural.
You’ll leave your session feeling like a queen!
Where Do Boudoir Shoots Take Place?
All this is done in a safe space where light and shadow showcase your favorite features. We have a variety of options for your bridal boudoir session location:
- Gallatin Studio: included in every package, it is a 200-year-old Victorian house less than five miles from Washington, DC. My home studio has unique charm, ivory walls, and mid-century modern decor. Plus all the plants!!
- Your Wedding Venue: if you have an amazing venue like Dover Hall in Richmond, VA (see glam shots pictured below) that allows you to stay the night before, then we can totally do your session in that space!!
- Other Venue Options: the LINE DC Hotel is always a favorite of mine with large, natural windows and fresh, modern decor. This is wonderful if you want to have a trip to Washington, DC or a fun weekend away with friends!
Who Should Do a Boudoir Session?
In my opinion, boudoir sessions are an experience every single woman needs to have at least once in her life. I also offer a major discount if you include it in your wedding package!
I offer the curation of your boudoir album and high-quality prints that make a perfect wedding day gift for your partner. Even if you are already married, these can spice up your marriage as a surprise anniversary gift!
Doing your bridal boudoir as part of your wedding package can be used to do a trial of your hair & makeup artist or as part of your bachelorette party! Then all of the special ladies in your life can feel like queens for a day!
