What Your (Full-day) Elopement Package Could Look Like

Wedding bouquet at full-day elopement

If you feel like you can’t settle on what your elopement day should look like–I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to choose! Using a full-day elopement package allows you to fit in all your favorite activities and locations from sunrise to sunset. You can make the day exactly how you want it! See how this couple took advantage of everything that their full-day elopement package had to offer!

Perhaps you’ve narrowed down your elopement location to the city or a forest, at your favorite coffee shop, or in your home. So many couples that I chat with go a little crazy trying to sort out where and how to do their adventurous elopement. With a full-day at your disposal, we can totally make the time to fit in all of your favorites!

They Took the City by Storm

The requirement for Brittany and Jason’s self-officiated elopement was somewhere private and surrounded by nature within Washington, DC. They also wanted to incorporate being in the city, close to their getting-ready location at the LINE DC Hotel in Adams Morgan. Since this boutique luxury hotel checked off their desire for some urban shots, we then had to find some nature in the city of Washington, DC.

Being hikers and travelers (Jason is a pilot) who basically just enjoy being outside together, having their ceremony outdoors was a must. I knew the perfect spot for them in the heart of DC–Boulder Bridge in Rock Creek Park. This couple could have complete privacy surrounded by a haven of trees all while still being in the city.

They Went to Spots Meaningful to Them

Next on the couple’s list was a spot very personal to them and their story: a coffee shop. Local to the DC Metro Area, Brittany and Jason chose the native Vigilante Coffee for their midday break (see full timeline below). Together they share a strong love for coffee (clearly, these are MY people) so we had to incorporate a coffee spot into their day!

I love how elopements take us off the beaten path in SO many different ways! It can literally mean leaving the path to catch an overlook no one else ever sees. Other options include incorporating your pets into the wedding day or taking photos wearing sunglasses standing in front of a brightly colored wall…

We did so many things simply because we could with their full-day elopement package! There were no rules, just capturing candid moments and letting these two experience elements they love from their everyday lives. This personalization and spontaneity (including incorporating their beautifully designed wedding florals) is what makes elopements so personal and just so YOU!

They Got the Privacy They Wanted

Following our coffee break we made it to Rock Creek Park for the ceremony. Brittany and Jason exchanged vows privately in a meadow along the water. I stood super far back, utilizing specific lenses to provide the moment they wanted with just the two of them. The newlyweds also had their first dance right there in the meadow (we brought a portable speaker). Brittany wore boots under her dress which also came in handy for splashing through the creek after their dance!

These two are adventurous souls that love sharing experiences together. I wanted to give them just that–an experience. A perfect adventure together close to home that became frozen for them in time to look back on forever. It is pretty awesome because they can go back and visit these locations super easily, reliving their elopement day in the exact spots. Hello anniversary picnic in the park!
