Located about an hour outside of Washington, DC, The Red Fox Inn & Tavern is a wedding venue with a touch of everything your wedding needs. Having personally captured weddings there in both winter and spring, I can attest to the fact that this venue transforms so beautifully with each season. Indoors or outdoors, hot or cold, from winter to the middle of summer, this rustic Virginia wedding venue is the perfect setting for your big day. Let me show you why!
Set in Middleburg, Virginia, the all-inclusive venue covers catering, the bar, ceremony location, reception spaces, and prep areas (separate for bride and groom). They even offer rehearsal dinner options!
The getting-ready spaces are beautiful and have plenty of room for the wedding party. Ladies usually use the Middleburg Cottage which has an attached terrace garden that’s perfect for first looks, bridal shots, and separate wedding party photos. Groomsmen can get ready in the Belmont Suite and do solo groom portraits too. Utilizing both of these spaces makes pre-ceremony photos a breeze!
The Red Fox is a historic, yet fully-functioning inn. Depending on the size of your wedding party and guest list, some can stay on the property itself. Additional guests and family members can also stay right down the road at the amazing Salamander Resort! One couple even used the resort to provide their wedding cake (see below).
This rustic Virginia wedding venue can accommodate 40 to 120 guests and can also cater to small, intimate weddings of 3-36 guests. Here are the locations I would recommend for wedding day photos:
There are 3 options for the ceremony space:
You can have dinner and cocktail hour indoors with dancing in the heated tent or keep everything in the tent! Inside the tavern, there’s The JEB Stuart upper room and parlor and/or the cozy Tap Room downstairs in the lower tavern.
With the dark wood of the dimly-lit lower tavern, brightness can still be brought in as this couple did with gorgeous black taper candles and baby’s breath runners (created by Cedar and Lime Co). The entire design of their wedding really leaned into the intimate, rustic vibe that this Virginia wedding venue offers.
Basically, you get to be creative with your spaces having up to four totally different areas to use right on the same property. There is no golf cart required! All the areas are conveniently steps away from each other. And there are secret gardens…everywhere! Need I say more? Really though, there are three different secret gardens bringing all the Tuscany vibes.
As a photographer, I just gush over all of the different secret garden spots that The Red Fox has to offer. Every couple can truly make this venue their own with the many unique spaces. I also get to photograph the two of you in a destination experience without traveling across the world. The staff is so attentive and really cares that you and outside vendors like myself have an amazing experience!
Still unsure if The Red Fox is right for you? I’m here to answer any questions you may have!
