City streets + twinkle lights. Marilyn + Adam sought to have a nontraditional wedding from the beginning. They wanted an intimate setting for their family and closest friends to celebrate with them as they became husband + wife. Adam is from the DC area and met Marilyn through work at the companies New York City branch. Although they both live in NYC now, they knew they wanted to tie the knot in the District! The two fell in love with the unique charming qualities of the historic Tabard Inn on their first venue tour and looked no further! It was the perfect urban + garden setting for their guests to mingle and dance.
Marilyn + Adam had their first look right outside Iron Gate and the three of us ventured around Dupont Circle before the ceremony guests arrived. Family is so important for these two and they were travelling very far. So, the two wanted to spend as much time with them during the reception as possible! Their wedding date is centered around the anniversaries of their parents + grandparents and they had dedicated songs to each during the reception.
PS- Marilyn + the team at the Inn designed the most amazing donut “cake” ever!
I met these two love birds back in April for their engagement shoot under the cherry blossom trees! You would never know how cold it was (snow flurry cold by the way) as Marilyn was such a trooper. Her spring dress fit so perfectly with the blossoms at the Tidal Basin. If you are looking for classic DC engagement photo spots, the Tidal Basin is always beautiful. You can check out their cherry blossom engagement photos featured over on Capital Romance!
