Even though DIY weddings have their appeal, sometimes it’s best when the planning and execution is left to the professionals. There can be such a sense of relief knowing that your wedding day is in good hands. It is even better when a wedding venue like The Manor at Airmont provides all-inclusive packages with offerings that cover every element of the experience. Join this venue’s co-owner, designer, florist and planner as she shares how executing her wedding florist ideas brings a wedding day to life!
The Manor at Airmont is a historic wedding venue located in Round Hill, Virginia. It’s a venue fit for a small wedding that offers a very unique, individualized, in-house approach. Shelby and Joe loved how personal and intimate it feels and the palpable passion, attention to detail, and unique amount of effort the team puts into getting to know them.
After deciding where to focus their wedding planning energy, the couple chose the all-inclusive package offered by The Manor at Airmont. The venue offers both partial and full planning packages, with the full option covering all planning, florals and catering. This is the point where Natallia Francis, the venue’s co-owner, designer, florist and planner takes over with her wedding florist ideas! The in-house catering, cake, and dessert is even kept in the family provided by Zesty Gourmet, Natallia’s parents’ business.
On their original mood board for the day, the couple had shared a ton of colors, an Aperol Spritz, and a small box covered in a Wes Anderson color palette. Natallia shared that this vision “was a unique spin on the colorful wedding palette trend and we ran with it!” They were ecstatic to find a BBJ La Tavola table runner that fit the Wes Anderson aesthetic perfectly, and they knew it had to be used!
Thinking outside of the box from both a planning and design viewpoint is where these unique wedding florist ideas arise. Natallia designed all of the greenery and floral decor for the wedding. Because it’s her venue (co-owned with her husband), she really loves customizing the floral design ideas per client.
As Natallia explained, in being so comfortable with the space, they are “always looking for unique ways to bring the manor to life for our couples. We truly strive to make each wedding about the couple, their story, and their unique design perspective.”
This venue and the wedding floral design combined turning the couple’s vision into reality. Shelby and Joe chose a garden party wedding theme featuring wildflowers in bright summer wedding colors accompanied by natural greenery.
Shelby’s summer wildflower bouquet had soft pinks, blues, oranges, purples, and yellows, with whites peeking through. For non-floral accents, the design consisted of gold framed glass mirrors and wedding day photographs of grandparents. The wedding reception decorations involved table settings covered with additional florals, greenery, and glassware in different colors complimented by blush plates and sage napkins.
Natallia prepared with her own wedding florist ideas to amplify those provided by the couple. Here’s how she addressed their questions and concerns throughout the planning process!
With a 110 degrees Fahrenheit heat warning for this July wedding, the florals did struggle in the heat. The Manor at Airmont crew protected the wedding floral arrangements throughout the hot day. This was just another benefit of working with an in-house florist rather than one who just drops off the flowers.
Natallia positioned the majority of the wedding flowers in the shade including the wedding flowers arch during the ceremony. She was able to adjust as needed and shift many ceremony flowers to the indoor reception.
At one point, Shelby had a moment of panic about the bright florals being placed on colorful table runners. But, she trusted her wedding florist with the creative process and her interpretation of the mood board. The results did not disappoint!
The couple describe themselves as loving “light and color and we are generally very happy and silly people and we want our day to represent that!” Shelby and Joe felt that the venue’s “detail and personal touch really shone through in their florals and tablescapes, and how they arranged the different settings.”
It was worth their investment in a team of wedding professionals including their favorite photographer! The design of their day definitely reflected them!
