Tucked away in the Washington, DC neighborhood of Georgetown you will find Tudor Place Historic House & Garden. This historic wedding venue built in 1816 hosts over five acres of flowering gardens. These are perfect for both first looks and romantic wedding ceremonies. Even the pink, elegant Historic House creates a perfect contrast to all the green! Tudor Place provides the ideal surroundings for an intimate Georgetown wedding.
Samaria & Galvin wanted an elegant, modern, but classic feel of Europe for their big day. Using Georgetown locations gave the perfect feel for this couple’s European style intimate wedding.
The gorgeous gardens of Tudor Place, though right in the middle of historic Georgetown, feel like a hidden European home. Basically, you get the look and feel of a destination wedding on a European estate all in Washington, DC! From the multiple gardens on the property to the pink coloring of the Historic House, the European feel spans across the entire property!
Another highlight of this venue is that right outside Tudor Place’s gates are the brick and cobblestone streets of Georgetown. During this couple’s first look they took a walk around the surrounding neighborhood and even hopped on an electric scooter! The historic homes and tree-covered streets perfectly complemented the European vibes of this wedding venue.
I personally enjoy the grounds for first looks and newlyweds photos in the gardens and around the estate. The Bowling Green where these two had their first look has a beautiful fountain surrounded by lush greenery. You enter through a small path surrounded by a mix of boxwood and magnolia trees. The tree coverage provided the private atmosphere the couple wanted for this special moment.
Sitting on over five acres of tree-surrounded property, the grounds have several different gardens, ivy, stone steps, florals, and even lavender. One of these gardens even has maze hedges with flowers throughout. There are endless locations for beautiful wedding photos! Besides all the greenery and gardens, Georgetown’s Tudor Place also boasts a 200-year-old Tulip Poplar tree!
The indoors are just as beautiful. A variety of Victorian-era rooms and adjacent gardens can be found for ceremonies or cocktail hours. The secret garden spots and grand Historic House give both the inside and outside such a European feel. I can’t recommend this wedding venue enough for first looks, ceremonies, AND receptions!
If this sounds like your dream Washington, DC wedding venue then let’s chat! I can’t wait to return!
